Legends Cup VIII – End Of An Era: Seeding and Battle Information

lc-2

UPDATE: The IAE have taken the open spot to face WN & RPF

UPDATE: SWAT has now died, and have been replaced with the Hippos Army

Foreword:

Launched in 2010 by then-CEO Iasage, the Legends Cup is the most successful and historic tournament throughout the history of CP Armies. Normally the main event of the Summer, the Legends Cup has made and broken many leaders and armies – with many focusing large sections of the year on just gaining success in this tournament. Over the seven years of the tournament, only three armies have managed to win it, with the Nachos, IW and RPF sharing success with multiple victories between them – with both the Ice Warriors and Rebel Penguin Federation having the most triumphs at three. With CP Armies set to close in just over a month, it has been decided with approval across the community that there would be a special edition of the Legends Cup this year, replacing the traditional fixture of the March Madness. This tournament will be the 8th official Legends Cup, but will be commonly associated with the tag: ”End Of An Era”, signalling the launch of our last ever knock-out tournament. Without further adieu, we will now move onto the announcement of the special seeding system and the resulting fixtures and battle information.

The Nachos took victory in the first ever Legends Cup Final seven years ago, beating the Ice Warriors.

Seeding

Normally the seeding is done purely on the Top Ten ranking, but with this being a special edition there has been a slight twist in the process we went through to rank the armies. We equally contribute both previous tournament success with current top ten rankings, using a points and ranking based system, to order the armies within our community into the seeding list found below.

1. Doritos
2. Light Troops
3. Rebel Penguin Federation
4. Nachos
5. Ice Warriors
6. Wild Ninjas
7. Special Weapons and Tactics Replaced By Hippos
8. Army of CP
9. Army Republic
10. Thugs
11. The Penguin Army Force
12. Imperial Argonauts Empire Replaced by Shadow Troops

 Fixtures & Battle Information

topten2016

Due to the unusual and uncomfortable number of armies participating in the competition this year, a slightly different format has had to be adopted to account for this. This means that there are 12 armies in the Preliminary Round, with four battles of three armies. The top two will advance to the next round, with the winner of the top battle facing the runner-up of the bottom battle on both sides of the fixture graphics above. For this reason it is good to not just finish within the top two of your preliminary battle to get through to the Quarter-Finals, but very advantageous to win the battle to get an easier fixture in the next round.

The draw provides some very interesting battles, no more notable than that between the two most successful armies in the history of the tournament, the Nachos and Ice Warriors. The DCP, ACP and AR are also a strong trio in the first round, while SWAT and LT face off in a more historic battle. Below are the times and information for all the battles, the server is not provided and will be announced on the day by the Gamesmaster. All of the normal tournament rules apply, with the first round battles being 20 minutes long.

We can now officially begin and look forward to the final bracket tournament in CP Army history. Many controversial moments, major upsets and memorable occasions have occurred across all of our tournaments throughout the years, so if we get just a slight bit of this again we are in for a big treat this year. I hope you enjoy this tournament and good luck to all armies involved.

  11. So are armies just done after this? Why not move the community over to a private server or create a CP Private server dedicated to armies? This community shouldn’t have to die! It’s too fun!

  12. Why end the community with the dying out of CP? Why not Just move the armies community over a private server or better yet create a private server for armies specifically? It’s too fun!

  20. MMM, I smell another exciting tournament!

  21. This post is inaccurate, both the RPF and IW have 3 wins. RPF won it in 2013, 2015 and 2016. I know you only said this because you want IW to look better than everyone else, bias!!!

  22. My error, thought Nachos won it twice when they’ve only won it once. I’ll edit it accordingly.

  23. To be honest though, this is like my first CPAC Tournament in years after not playing Club Penguin for a while.

  24. Add fire rangers
